THE WORKSHOP TARGETS FOR REGULATORY AUTHORITIES INVOLVED IN THE IMPORT/EXPORT AUTHORIZATION PROCESS.
The Department of Commerce will host a Single Window Visioning Workshop for regulatory authorities (eg. customs, agriculture, food and drugs, quarantine, trade/commerce) that are involved in the import/export authorization process, and are responsible for border control activities.
The workshop will introduce the concept of a “single window” to all key stakeholders and to commence, through a participatory process, defining a high-level vision for Saint Lucia that will set the overall framework for the development of a strategy for its implementation.
The term “single window” is often used to refer to different business environments or facilities where multiple tasks leading to a single outcome may be carried out by different parties, on the basis of common information being supplied only once. The key objective of this kind of single window is to facilitate traders in discharging all the regulatory obligations related to import or export with the relevant authorities of their country.
The workshop will be held at the Coco Palm Resort in Rodney Bay, and will commence at 8:45 a.m. on Oct. 25.
