POLLING CLERKS AND ELECTION OFFICERS ARE OPERATING UNDER THE STRICTEST PROTOCOLS FOR A SECURE PROCESS.

The Saint Lucia Electoral Department has confirmed that all measures required by law have been put in place to ensure a smooth, safe, and fair general election on Dec. 1, 2025.

Under the Elections Act, polling stations will open at 6:30 a.m. and will close at 6 p.m. on Monday, with all eligible electors in line before closing time, permitted to cast their ballots.

The 2025 general election will fill all 17 seats in the House of Assembly, under a first-past-the-post voting system. Nomination procedures earlier this month generated significant engagement: the main political parties, and a number of independent candidates are contesting across constituencies.

All returning officers, polling clerks, and other election officers have taken the required oaths of impartiality and secrecy under the Elections Act, and are operating under strict protocols for voter identification, the issuing of ballot papers, and the secure handling and sealing of ballot boxes.

The Electoral Department remains committed to transparency, public trust, and the integrity of the democratic process, thus ensuring the public that all is place for eligible voters to exercise their right to vote.
